6 Best Modified Toyota Fortuner SUVs In India

Toyota Fortuner is one of the best SUVs in India as well as the Global market. Toyota launched the capable SUV back in 2006, and since then, the manufacturer has been updating models.

Well, this can be seen in updated launches. The manufacturer has tried to give it a muscular look but still can’t match up with these modified Fortuner.

Since the SUV has a Global presence, you will see verities of exclusive modified Fortuner. These SUVs have been modified by specialized garages, designers, and beloved Fortuner lovers. So, let’s get straight to the list of the best modified Toyota Fortuner in the world.

1. Black Hulk With Off-Road Tyres

Black is the new beast in modified cars, and this beast is called Black Hulk. The modified Fortuner comes wrapped in custom candy black paint or Z black to remember easily. Not only this, accessories like MCC Snorkel, Alloys, door handle covers, taillights, front grille, etc. all of them are covered with comes wrapped in black.

This black Hulk is a facelift version of the first-generation Toyota Fortuner. Mechanically, it comes powered with a 3.0-liter engine and offers a 4×4 drive option. Also, it uses Liqui moly and BMC air filter as standard mechanical accessories.

Whether it’s a suspension or digital customization, the Hulk has received a host of modifications. In the list, it comes fitted with Profender adjustable suspension kit (4+ lift), 16x9j CLS Wheels with copper STT PRO tires (285/75/16), and aftermarket LED headlamps and taillight. In addition, the off-roader also gets a Thule roof rack, a Digital design audio system, and a customized front engine hood.

Inside, there is custom-made interiors with leather-finished upholstery and sports seats.

2. Minimalist Modified Fortuner

The second modified Fortuner on the list is a clean-looking SUV customized by Autobasics – one of the Indian car modification brands. As you can see, the SUV has received minimal modification on the body. On the outside, the only change you gonna notice is the set of Alloys (18x9J Fuel Assault), which are painted black with OMIKRON A/T off-road tires, and that looks dope to me.

In addition, the SUV also offers a few accessories and add-ons like a new number plate design (front and rear), aftermarket front headlamps with LED DRLs, Hilux off-road Snorkel, engine hood scoop, Apollo front chrome grille, and that’s it. Combining all of them, the SUV looks absolutely stunning and catches the eye instantly.

Now, have you noticed the height of the SUV? Yes, you guessed, right! This Fortuner also comes fitted with an aftermarket 12-step off-road suspension and a 4” lift kit. Look at the rear, and you see a Black Panther body kit that comes equipped with twin-rectangular exhaust pipes. Well, I’ve seen similar exhaust setups in some of the fastest BMWs.

Apart from this modification, the engine setting remains the default. It uses the latest and refined 2.8-liter engine and comes with an optional 4×4 drive. No changes have been done it this compartment.

3. High Heal Toyota Fortuner

Wait, what? Is this real? This was the first question in my mind when I saw this heavily modified Fortuner. I mean just look at this once, and you will get the answer itself.

Heavy modified Toyota Fortuner

This modified SUV is based on the first generation of Fortuner and comes loaded with plenty of accessories that you might not have imagined in a Toyota Fortuner ever.

Starting with the most obvious thing “suspension + wheels”. The SUV comes installed with 17×7 soft steel chrome alloys which are hugged by massive 43” off-road tires. Coming to the suspension system, the HIGH-RISE Toyota Fortuner has utilized a custom STABILIZER with a 16+ step adjustable off-road suspension system.

There are no massive changes in the front, you will see a chrome grille with company-fitted headlamps. Protecting as well as helping the SUV to give off-roader appeal is the setup of the Brush guard. This grille setup with chrome inserts comes installed on the bumper. Also, you will find a pair of off-road lights.

Now the question arises, how would you get into this beast? Well, this part has been taken care of so well. Accessories like Truck bed/hoop steps will help you get in there.

At the rear, there is an off-road bumper with towing setup. Taillights have been tweaked to a black finish.  In terms of aftermarket accessories, this heavily modified Fortuner gets a Snorkel, roof rack, and several things for the interiors.

Mechanically, the SUV still manages with a first-generation 3.0-liter diesel engine. However, just because of the whole off-road setup, there are few changes in the brakes.

4. Toyota Fortuner Rally PRO

The 4th SUV on the list is designed and manufactured by the manufacturer itself. Yes, this is the Rally Fortuner built by the Toyota racing development (TRD) team.

The sports/off-road edition Fortuner comes wrapped brand’s signature color -red and white. The first impression when I saw this modified Fortuner was WOW. I mean, every component that you are seeing is just made for this particular variant.

In the front, the manufacturer has replaced the chrome grille with a more rough and off-road flat metal V-shape sheet. It also highlights LED projector headlamps, muscular wheel arches, and all back 6-spoke alloys. The front bumper has been replaced with a huge off-road skid plate which enables the SUV to tackle any obstacle in the front.

The suspension of the SUV has been modified/raised to a few inches, and now it stands/runs on bigger, wider off-road tires.

Inside, the SUV gets the default setup. Accessories like an 8-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, steering wheel-mounted control, leather wrapping and etc., are standard.

Mechanically, the SUV comes fitted with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder dual VVTi petrol engine. This engine setup makes around 164 bhp at 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The power is sent to the rear set of the wheel (4WD optional) via a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

5. Yellow Ghost Modified Fortuner

We have seen a good variety of modified SUVs, but this one seems different and claims one of a kind design in India. Well, this particular model knows as Yellow Ghost.

Yellow Ghost Modified Fortuner

The off-roading vehicle is based on the top-spec – TRD – version of the Fortuner. It has been wrapped into an out-of-the-box glassy Sicilian yellow color which looks excellent. All the shiny material from the front, side, and rear has been replaced/packed into all black.

The front grille has been replaced with a black aftermarket unit which holds the TRD logo on the right-down corner. On the top, there is a set of Hummer lights that adds a monster touch. Look at the lower front, you will see a set of bar lights that helps the SUV in dense areas during off-roading.

Well, that’s not all. The roof and Fortuner branding in the front also has been blacked out.

Except for cosmetic changes, the SUV has got some great skills to tackle any terrain. For instance, this modified Fortuner comes loaded with lift suspension, Off-road Yokohama types with Fuel alloys, and a whole lot more.

Inside, there are a few changes. You see a new seat fabric with color and matting. Apart from cosmetic upgrades, the SUV also receives some enhancements in the music system.

Mechanically, there are no changes in the engine. The SUV still manages to produce 174 bhp of max. power and 420 Nm of peak torque.

6. 35-Inch Off-Road Toyota Fortuner Albino

This Philippines owner experimented with crazy mods. I’ve never seen this much modification in any Fortuner. Both the owner and car tuner named this project – Albino. Usually, car owners like you and me visit a normal modification shop and get our vehicle customized.

However, Albino is modified by a car tuner brand – Autobot. The whole modification is based on the GR-S model.
