Lotus Evija

The name ‘Evija’ has been derived from Latin which means ‘ the first in existence’ or ‘the living one’. Well, I don’t about ‘the living one’ but yes it’s the first electric hypercar car from Lotus motors so you can relate this here. The hypercar is engineered and designed at the headquarters of Lotus motors situated in Hethel, UK. According to the manufacturer, Evija is the most powerful series-production road car ever built in the history of Automotive.

The hypercar comes loaded with tons of gizmos. Starting with, it is made up of single-piece carbon fibre monocoque chassis which is first used in the history of Lotus motors. The front headlights have used dipped beam laser tech. which is first in the industry. It offers cloud connectivity which can be accessed by Lotus smartphone app. Door mirrors have replaced with much advanced and electronically adjustable cameras. Trust me these were only a few things I just described. Let’s move to the specs sheet of Lotus Evija!

Lotus Evija Specs

Motor 4- PMMC high-density motors

The Lotus motors has put the batteries behind the bulkhead or cabin. There are 4-radiators cooling package that helps to maintain the batteries temperature.

Inside of Lotus Evija

Noticeably, this is not an ordinary battery we have seen in Tesla or any other Electric car. The manufacturer has specially designed and manufactured this fastest charging battery in the partnership of Williams Advanced Engineering. By saying fastest charging, it means that Evija will take 12 mins to 80% and 18 mins to 100% of battery juice. This is something great for the electric future where users will not dependent for hours of charging.

To handle 2000 PS, the Evija gets a fitment of AP Racing braking system with forged aluminium carbon-ceramic system (front and rear).

In short, the company target was to be the most powerful production car in the world and I think they have achieved that.

  1. Really liked the thorough information about electric cars, especially the Buckeye Bullet 3 electric landspeed vehicle. Appreciate your research on the perfect list of fastest electric cars in the world. Keep doing what you do! 👌

  2. Almost all of these are concept cars, and their acceleration and top speed are not confirmed. Also, Rimac Automobili is a fraud, they are saying they make everything themselves in-house, but for example, they are buying electric motors from am racing, and then sell them as theirs. Also, Ivan Rimac (his father) who gave the starting capital, was the president of the supervisory board of Rimac Automobili is a known criminal that has been wanted by the Interpol for tax evasion in Germany, and has been in jail in Serbia and Croatia, for many other cases, and has been a part of devastating Croatia in collaboration with some of the most prominent Croatian politicians. Fun fact, Mate Rimac announced they are making electric yachts, and on the TV interview, he said he is building a flying car.

    • Hi Ralph, thanks for the feedback and detailed information. Well, the top speed and other relevant information of these electric cars are taken from the company’s press and website. Thanks 🙂

  3. Thorough post. I personally liked the pick of cars and the way you represented the list of the fastest electric cars in the world. No doubt, Electric it the future.

  4. Very nice article and good info on the cars. Seems the Roadster would be the best to get because of the driving range, but the Lotus Evija would be good also (to me) because of it’s super quick charging rate.
